More Celebrity Hair Restoration Journeys
In a past blog we explored celebrity hair loss journeys and the steps they took to restore their hairlines. We also checked out Nicolas Cage’s personal experience with hair loss. In fact, celebrity hair restoration is a popular subject among our clients. Celebs give the rest of us an idea of our options and what we can expect from the methods they try. We see ourselves in them and share their hopes for the best from life, including a full head of hair.
Let’s check out some more celebrity hair restoration stories. These are among some of the best results for follicular unit extraction (FUE), multiple follicular unit (MFU) and strip hair transplants (FUT). While which method of hair transplantation or hair restoration they used is anyone’s guess, it is clear they chose surgery to turn back the hands of time.
Elon Musk’s Combined Approach
If you have watched Elon Musk’s hairline change over the past several years, you are not alone. This rocket man and automotive innovator has probably used a combined approach to fill in his receding hairline. This approach likely involved an FUT “strip “hair transplant,” followed soon after by an FUE, follicular unit extraction.
Elon Musk’s hair loss reached about a 4 on the Norwood Scale of hair loss severity. This means that he needed between 4,000 and 5,000 grafts for the celebrity hair restoration results you see today.
Wayne Rooney Had Two FUEs
FUE was the procedure of choice for Wayne Rooney’s celebrity hair restoration expert at a London clinic. This professional UK footballer has been vocal about his personal hair transplant story. He was a Norwood Scale 3 and needed 2,500 hair grafts for his first procedure in 2011. In 2013, he had his surgeon perform a second procedure to fill in areas for thicker hair. This second surgery involved another 1,000 grafts.
Gordon Ramsey’s Secret FUE
Although he is not spilling any secrets, celeb chef Gordon Ramsey certainly had a celebrity hair restoration procedure performed sometime around 2011. The culinary master appeared to rank at about a 3 on the Norwood Scale. He needed about 2,500 grafts to fill in the receding hairline on his temples and crown. Although his method is a secret recipe, we think he underwent an FUE procedure.
Elton John’s Multiple Celebrity Hair Restorations
Elton John has been very vocal about his hair loss journey, hair restoration surgeries and failure to follow his doctor’s post-surgical instructions. His first two celebrity hair restorations were in the 1970s. This was long before the procedures became what they are today. Back then, results were not natural looking. To make matters worse, John blames himself and not following his surgeon’s advice for the subsequent loss of all of the transplanted hair.
By 2013, Elton claims he was so insecure about his hair loss and Norwood Scale 3 rating that he inquired about having another surgery using modern methods. Fortunately, improvements in these procedures and better self-care after surgery led to natural-looking results. He maintains his star-quality look by using Rogaine and Propecia still today.
John Travolta’s Secret Surgery
John Travolta will not talk about his celebrity hair restoration. But everyone whispers about it because he went from a Norwood Scale 4 to having a full head of healthy hair in 2014 to 2016. Which procedure he had is not clear. But he is definitely growing hair that is equivalent to about 4,000 grafts.
Sylvester Stallone’s Subtle Improvement
Sly Stallone only needed about 1,000 grafts for his fuller head of hair and to complete his celebrity hair restoration in about 2013. He likely rated as a 2 on the Norwood Scale, having light hair loss at the top of his forehead region and to the temples. Following his procedure, Rocky definitely looks years younger.
